Default Newly discovered comet heading right for the sun!

    Watch this little SOHO movie:

SUNGRAZING COMET ALERT: The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory [[SOHO) is tracking a comet that is about to make a perilous close approach to the sun: movie, labels. Will the icy visitor survive? Click here for the latest image. [[Note: The comet was discovered by Australian amateur astronomer Alan Watson in images taken by NASA's STEREO-A spacecraft.)

    Oh, and Happy New Year!

Captured in the past here are some videos of comets interacting with our Sun.

Maybe a big CME, maybe nothing.

Why did the camera move from a solar flare ? Just saying -

Aren't they all steered by linear actuators? Might be that the side one isn't as shielded against EMP and that they travel faster than we're allowed to know.

One good ElectroMagnetic Pulse, and it might 'flinch'.

Looks like that little comet got pwnd by Sol.

It sure did, not even a burp from the Sun!

My college physics is a bit rusty, but isn't this kind of like hitting a freight train with a BB gun?

    No, scratch that.

Hitting a freight train with a spitwad?

    LOL, Johnlodge.

To me it looks like the sun ejects something just after the asteroids pass by, a plasma ejection in response. That last one looks so much like a slap, though. it is funny.

    Clearly some sorta energy exchange.

Oh, and the apparent movement is merely the video synch dropping or moving slightly, and even that could've been a reaction to the EMP from this burst...or some other energy we've not yet discovered. It happened with both ejections of plasma...each burp...one was only the radius of the sun behind the filter, the other the whole video frame. You can see it wrap around on the extreme left edge.

The second one is the same event with a much better device...and lens.

The third keeps cracking me up.

    Cheers!

That comet could be a sign that its effects will disturb its supermagnetic field causing a comic flare that would effect all planets in the our Solar System when it aligned during December 21, 2012 A.D.

Let us wait and see if the Mayans are right.
