    Default Boblo warehouse?

There's a building along the Detroit River [[ picture here http://www.flickr.com/photos/detroitderek/1572958259/ ) just South of Downtown Detroit that has a huge blue Boblo Sign painted onto it. It appears to be a warehouse but I don't know if it has any affiliation with the former Boblo Island [[ ie: kept materials or maintenenace equipment there, etc ) or if it is merely an old advertisement. Does anyone have any info on this building? Thanks again.

It's the last dock location and the ad dates from the period.

The building is simply a sign. Boblo had a dock next to the warehouse at the foot of Clark Street @ Nicholson Marine Terminals. The building is a cold storage facility and was never directly used by Boblo [[except for the sign next to the dock).

Bscott and DPlanner got it right. It's the old Detroit Harbor Terminals. Nick's was originally [[and still is) downriver in Ecorse, next to the old Great Lakes Engineering Works at the foot of Great Lakes Avenue. It's where the Bob Lo Boats are now docked. Nicholson's bought the warehouse next [[down stream) to DHT for competitive purposes at some point in the 70's or 80's. They didn't use that terminal much for loading and unloading, more for warehousing. The Bob Lo Boats actually ran from the Detroit Harbor Terminals for a while. I went on at least two Great Bob Lo Boat Races [[UoM v Notre Dame) that left from DHT. DHT was taken over at some point during the 70's or early 80's by Detroit Marine Terminals which is located on West Jefferson Avenue at the Rouge River.
