    I worked on City Council central staff back in the mid-80s, and Erma Henderson as Council president was nominally my boss [[although I worked a few layers below). In what contact I had with her I always found her to be a gracious, kind, caring, and outgoing person. In fact, although she could be tough, she seemed in some ways a little too nice to be in the often rough-and-tumble world of city politics.
