    Default Another Anchor Bar?

During the 1960s, was there an Anchor Bar on East Jefferson, across from the Belle Isle Bridge? Among other things, this place was a hangout for the Coast Guard from Belle Isle LBSTA.

Yes, there was a bar called The Anchor on Jefferson across from Gabriel Richard Park between Brodhead Naval Armory and the Belle Isle Bridge. And around the corner on Field was the original Honest John's Marine Bar [[pre-John Thompson). I went to school for a couple of years just up the street in the old Field school at Field & Agnes, and we would wander down to Jefferson to go to the store or take the bus. Coast Guard from Belle Isle and Navy guys from Brodhead used to be seen pretty regularly going in and out of the bars over there.
