Stomp and swing to the sounds of the season this Friday night at one of southwest Detroit's most congenial locales, Donovan's Pub, as the Party Stompers and Bones Maki & the Treble-Aires throw down the rockin'-est sounds around. Surprise guest DJs wil be on hand with the wildest in wacked-out wax!

As Detroit-centric musical missionaries, the Party Stompers mine the magic of one of the finest music cities on earth, be it the melodic grit of Nolan Strong & the Diablos, the bashing back-alley blues of Bobo Jenkins, or the garage-soul of the Ohio Untouchables. The Stompers are led by Mike Hurtt [[Royal Pendletons, Haunted Hearts) and Jeff Meier [[Rocket 455, Detroit Cobras, Compulsive Gamblers, Shanks). This is your one and only chance this year to hear them play the greatest Christmas song ever written, Nathaniel Mayer's "Mister Santa Claus." Don't miss it.

The Treble-Aires are a brand-new combo featuring some of the Motor City's longtime leading musical lights, including hillbilly historian and on-stage wildman Craig "Bones" Maki as well as drummer extraordinaire Loney Charles. They specialize in that rare stripe of hillbilly, rockabilly and Big Beat-tinged honky-tonk that once ruled Vernor Highway. For one night, it will again.

Friday, December 11, 2009 at Donovan’s Pub, 3003 W. Vernor Highway, Detroit, Michigan 48216. Slide on in around 9:30 p.m. All for the low, low cost of five bucks!!!
