What spectacular pix! I favor the rocket explanation. I know when we launch something at White Sands or Canaveral it is visible across half the state. Still, that huge refractive look is very strange.

I've been following a few unconfirmed reports that someone has developed large-scale holography technology.

Some have said they can make a city appear...so this spiral looks well within the abilities of the device.

The sky up there is very odd anyway -- ice crystals, aurora, etc. on some nights the moon is ringed with concentric circles like a cheap diagram of the solar system

Actually. I've seen the same phenomena here, about 10 years ago. Russian Rocket booster, or so it was explained in the media then. No big surprise here.

I was going to call bullshit on the rocket theory until I saw the grainy video. That could certainly be a rocket, but it would have to be going directly away from that vantage point...very suspicious.

I am amazed that if SO many people saw this, why are there only a few stills...that DON'T agree with the eye-witness testimony in the text...and only one really shitty video of the event?!

And why would this be a Sun exclusive? Anything else corroborating it on the web?

Just did a quick google...and yes, it is covered elsewhere.

None of these agree, and not a one looks like the highest-resolution images from the Sun story.

How strange is this...both videos certainly support the rocket theory.

The most boring and least nefarious of the possible reasons.

Sigh.

It was probably from the creatures that inhabit the northern end of the Hollow Earth, from their North Pole entrance hole.

More I look at the videos, more I'm convinced this was an INCOMING electromagnetic beam.

The effects of the last portion of its trajectory linger beyond the spiral cut in the sky...the EARLIEST view was that really large high-resolution spiral, it dissolved into the hollow holed sphere at the very end.

[[not to be confused by my Hollow Earth joke above)

Some of the camera people had a vantage point to notice lingering glowing on the horizon...could be something this beam weapon hit and lit...or delivered to the surface that happened to cause a wicked glow.

I'd say they couldn't bend beams, but years ago I saw them bend a single light beam clear across the Las Vegas sky.

There seems some slowing in velocity in the tightening blue spiral, or else the spiral form itself would be blurred in such a tight 'circumference'.

This might not be good.

Although, this fellow from the comments section of the Sun might be onto something.

Stephen Hawking predicted that due to Hawking Radiation, black holes below a certain size must feed or evaporate. What you have just witnessed is the aborted birth of a black hole. Blazar and all.

The LHC broke a new record just hours before this appeared, i would theorize that it spawned a black hole, which traveled through the earth, feeding, before it emerged into our atmosphere, still feeding, and evaporated when it reached the void of space and no longer had matter within the radius of it event horizon to feed upon.

It sounds like a prank I might play.

When we were kids my dad hooked up a car's spotlight to a battery so we could play around shining it into the sky. There was enough mist in the air to make a visible beam up to the spot it painted on the cloudbase. It was fun. I'm sure a lot of people saw it and wondered about it but nothing came of it.

The space junk theory seems plausible.

I've seen wavy rocket trails over White Sands Missile Range all the way from Phoenix about 300 miles west of there.

Well, it did happen to hit on a bunch of odd things I've stumbled upon these past few weeks, about the only esoteric wonderment I didn't associate in with all this was the Nazi connection with Norway.

I wasn't sure if anyone would believe it.

The way the spiral dissolved, seems was the opposite the way it would've appeared if it were a rocket.

The spiral trail would NOT have been evaporated or diminished by the flame-out to the hollow sphere.

Indeed, if the best images couldn've maintained focus, that tight blue spiral lingered after the flame-out, and that could've been a different fuel for breaking gravity...but since the last light is on the ground in most of the videos...

....I'm still voting on an incoming item or items of mass.

Spiral opening could be a tear in the space/time continuum that diffuses into that black-centered sphere before closing...while the blue spiral would then be the actual delivery of an item with mass into our 3d-1t reality [[that obviously developed momentum before entering the tear or wormhole), where it then must obey standard Newtonian physics on down to the surface once within our gravity and atmosphere. [[because it didn't appear to have any useful form of propulsion available other than slowing due to friction)

Question is whether it was intended or random then.

Isn't the world gathered in Copenhagen, not too far away from there, for those bogus climate change talks...where the President is supposed to participate next week?! I'm sure the Secret Service is curious about this.

I'd be happy to know it isn't some rogue faction playing with Tesla-derived weapons...like the Yakusa is rumored to have...as well as that odd KGB offshoot that Putin keeps financed.

Anyone else see that beam of light they stretched over the Las Vegas sky about ten years or so ago? It was pretty amazing. Green, if I remember right.

But that clearly bent, and I've never been able to understand how they did it.

My new friend Andrew D. Basiago seems intent on revealing a Top Secret technology that he insists will be used for some large-scale holographic deception soon. He's got a few other fantastic things he talks about, but this is his driving force...to insure it doesn't get used to fool the masses into doing something really stupid.

I haven't proven any of his story out yet, so I'm still taking it with a grain of salt, but the technology he discusses...the large-scale holography...has been corroborated by others, who say the same thing...some company created the illusion of an entire city somewhere.

So...I'm just putting it out there, and it obviously influenced my first guess with this phenomena.

Most eye-witness accounts agree...a greenish dot exploded with a crack, like a firecracker, into the larger white spiral...THEN the blue spiral came out of it towards the ground.

The blue spiral does have a bit of curve to it...and whatever came through apparently crash-landed, some of the images have a scene of fire and smoke on the ground.

I'm sticking with the teleportation worm-hole...creating a rip or tear in the space/time continuum for a moment then disappearing into that inverse sphere.

A rocket would've left a lingering TRAIL of smoke, to be seen in this morning sun...remember how long that Y-trail sat in the sky when the Challenger launch went bad. Forever, it seemed.

This one? NOTHING after the supposed flame-out.

All the advanced physics I've been studying points to the delivery end of a worm-hole...even to the dual-spirals slightly out-of-phase.

Now...what is the follow-up to this story?! Where is it?!
