    Interesting to see this.

I live in the Netherlands and here in Europe these combinations were not allowed. However two years ago the Dutch Government started experimenting with this material and it resulted in this.

The trucks are limited to 25 meters and 25cm. [[Strange size limit.)

Since then some more countries are experimenting with this such as Denmark and Sweden. Interesting story is that this week a UK hauler tried to run with a combination like this on English roads. This truck was made along the lines of a Dutch design. The police got wind of that experiment and the truck was stopped 100 yards outside the parking lot! It had to return. Quite amusing!

    Newslink.

Due to the length limit you rarely see American trucks in Europe. Some are imported and cherished showtrucks, painted in all kinds of elaborate paintings, but there are some COA [[Cab over engine) Macks here.

Yes, that's a Dutch licence plate.

Rare American build Volvo. I even know where this picture is taken. That is the rail connection between Amsterdam and Utrecht.

Photos of an F.J. Boutell auto transport carrying new Buicks built in Flint, Michigan, taken in Chillicothe, Ohio in Feb. 1940:

That second truck is a rare early example of a Cab over Engine truck. And what a great pic that first one is. You'd kill to have that in a garage, load and all.

I kind of like this transporter and it's load. This picture is on 10 Mile in East Detroit.

Thats a fantastic collection of, as Homer so very well put it, "Cool truck porn!"

    I found this one interesting.

That tells me that I wasn't the only one nervous driving behind one of those car hauler rigs.

Wouldn't mind driving behind this hauler type rig.

I do have one question - until a fiew minutes ago i thought i knew the awnser .
on the top of this load of buicks one buick had 3 holes on the side the other has 4 holes [[front fender) - origanally was told by my uncle [[ when i was a little kid) that the diffrence was one-yr model -to the next > [[ i rember this because he has cutting a hole in his and adding the 4th hole and trim .)
looking at it now and using logic - i`m thinking it desiganated 6 cyl as aposed to 8 cyl .
    anyone have the awnser ?

You'd be correct. The number of port-a-vents as they were called signified engine size. It's current even on today's Buicks as the Lucerne V6 has 3 port-a-vents and the V8 has 4.
