    Default A philosophical question for DYes

    If a fat girl falls in the woods, do the trees laugh?

    Think about it before posting.

    No but trees sometimes blush in the Fall before disrobing.

    I wouldn't know, but what if a fat boy falls in the woods, do the trees laugh?

    if a right-wing ex-celeb senator who just signed on to co-sponsor a bill to allow clear-cutting in national parks slams into a tree and dies, were the trees acting in self-defense?

    I believe trees have a greater compassion for other living things than most mere humans.

    But I don't think irony is lost on them.

    The same National Parks used as an excuse to take private property away?

    I challenge you to find ONE national park created by confiscating private property without compensation.

    oh, and by the way, the constitution does give the government eminent domain for the public interest.

    I remember when I was a kid the National Park took over a lot of private land and forced people out to create the Sleeping Bear Natioanl Park. There was compensation but a lot of people were very unhappy. Many took the 20 year offer, were they could stay for 20 years and then vacate. Riverside Canoe fought and won a case against the US Government and are probably the only ones left. That took probably 30 years in court however.

    The trees would probably still be coughing because of the extra oil needed to be burned to get the obese to the woods, and the extra time it now takes most people to get to woods, thanks to our unsustainable suburban sprawl and infinite growth model.

    Trees don't have lungs.
    If they did, they would be screaming bloody murder to get you to stop posting the same inane drivel. Really. One trick pony.

    And a quick shout out to CC... Stick it in your ear.

    Don't hate on the trees Stosh, it isn't transferable to humans;

    I really miss trees out here in the Nevada desert. I thought I saw one last week, but it was a cell phone tower camoflaged as a pine tree.
