Default Poll: Obama faces white flight

In 40 years all of America will look like Detroit.

    http://www.politico.com/politico44/p...553ca2739.html

And before a mob of you call me a racist, pessimist, Obama-hater, or whatever term makes you most comfortable, I didn't write the article, the liberal Politico wrote it - so stone them!

Where in the article did it say that white people were leaving America?
    Thanks in advance!

Can we say: Liberals using reverse racism again?

Liberals really need to stop . Its soooooo old.

The messiah is a lame duck and its only been a year.

All any sane individual can do is shake their head when liberals constantly play the race card.

When are minorities going to actually wake up and smell the coffee when it comes to liberals?

Sad, so sad that you guys are grasping at any little thing.

    Laughable too.

Crumpled_Pavement, like Steelers before him.... likes to find obscure Google items, and then reference those that fit his "personal agenda", and then stoke the flames of a thread flame war... and then sit back and watch the fireworks....

Like the words in an early Moody Blues album.... "it riles them to believe that you percieve the web they weave..."

The only person harping on race here is you.

Guess that makes you a liberal?

I don't think that most of the white people who voted for Obama did so because they supported him on any of the issues [[after all, he was very unclear on where he stood with most issues). I think they voted for him because they believed it would shut up all those blacks who claim that they are being discriminated against because of race.

[[By the way, I didn't vote for him.)

Then there are a lot more white people screwed up in this country then there are black people because that has to be the #1 lamest reason to elect someone PRESIDENT.

Well, I voted for him, but not because of his race.

And after an initial period of euphoria the race discussion has settled back into its customary framework, which was what I--and most other rational white people, I believe--expected to happen.

What a load. A lot of people voted for him because they were fed up with the Bushies & felt McCain wasn't any different.
I voted for Obama, so what? No matter who was coming in, they were going to deal with an unGodly mess. McCain said during the campaign that the economy was not his strong suit; don't forget his mistimed statement concerning the soundness of the economy as it was tanking. That doesn't exactly fill a lot of people with confidence; it sure as hell didn't convince me he was the guy to put in there. I've always liked John McCain, but like Joe Biden, he doesn't know when to shut up.
You want to assess "blame" about Obama being president? Start off with independants who were completely put off by Palin[[A catastrophic lapse in judgement by the McCain campaign). Blame the Republicans who never cared for McCain & probably didn't bother voting. You can throw the first time voters in there as well, because Obama knew how to reach them through technology. Blame the Obama campaign because they kept the machine running while McCain's couldn't get out of the starting gate. That's politics.
A lot of these teabagger-type people are pissed because they're out of power, plus egged on by the likes of Beck & Hannity. And since the guy in office happens to be black[[half white, half black in reality), they want to rationalize his ascendancy with any excuse they can find. They've bitch continuously for months about the deficit, taxes & God knows what else, but interestingly enough, they didn't say a damn word the previous eight years. Sounds like a case of sourgrapes. Reminds me of the kid on the playground who didn't get his way: "I'm taking my ball & going home!"

Oh yeah, where in that article did it state that white people were leaving America? That's right, it didn't. Amazing!

My, my, my, how soon we forget. I seem to recall during the campaign that every time someone was asked why they were voting for Obama, they never gave a logical reason. Instead they said "We want to make history." Now that is the #1 lamest reason to elect someone PRESIDENT.

Contrary to popular belief, everyone black person did NOT vote for Obama OR McCain. Some went the "independent" route...

    My my my...that's YOUR take.
I seem to recall during the campaign that every time someone was asked why they were voting for Obama, they stated they wanted a change in direction as far as the handling of the Iraq/Afghanistan wars, the economy, the atmosphere in DC, etc.
I know a lot of people who voted for him & not one ever made a comment remotely like that. And if they did, I'd tell them to pull their head out of their ass.
I find it interesting the rationalization people use because they can't face the fact that they lost an election.

That article still doesn't state anything about white people leaving America.
Anyway, I'm passing Go & collecting my $200.

That is just stupid. Obama won because the majority of the people thought his ticket was better than McCain/Palin [[which isn't saying much).

And of course his rating are down. The country is still f*cked up. If things were going well, his ratings would be sky high.

And what change did he promise? When asked what changes he would make in the war, Obama said "I will sit down with my Joint Chiefs of Staff and we will discuss what we should do." He never promised any change, and we haven't gotten any change. So if someone voted for him because of that, that is the #2 lamest reason to elect someone PRESIDENT.

As for the economy, what change did Obama promise? What change did he implement? He has put in power, or kept in power, the same group of Wall Street crooks from Lehman Brothers, et. al. Who did he put in charge of the Treasury? The person who was responsible for overseeing the NY banks while they were gambling on sub-prime mortgages and who couldn't even figure out how to pay his taxes. #3 lamest reason.

And what about the atmosphere in D.C.? How has that changed? #4 lamest reason.

Things are still bad, so his ratings are bad.

We may see communities stratifying based on income as has happened in Detroit...I don't think that race is the operative issue however.

Putting "Obama" and "white" in a thread title in a Detroit forum isn't trolling?

We all should have much bigger fish to fry than this.

Losing an election is an opportunity to display magnanimity. Wallowing in bitterness over the loss discards that opportunity in exchange for the price that will be paid.

An attorney once gave me this advice: "If losing is too painful, why keep playing?" Attorneys may catch a lot of flack but I must give credit when they offer wise advice.

    Exactly right.

I don't expect a full recovery for at least two terms. Entropy itself suggests it's easier to tear things down than rebuild them. Why would it take less than 8 years to rebuild what was torn down in the same time?

I expect a lot of bickering between parties, while the special/corporate interests cart this country away[[that's carts full of cash). People need to denounce their party and stand together. United we stand. We are most vulnerable divided.

I think that is the liberal media programming in action...liberals are in denial that regular folks are speaking out against tyranny from Obama.

Judging from his current performance, White Flight should be the least of Obama's worries.

Give us a break with that "Glen Beck nonsenese". The only tyranny is going on in the brains of idiots. People are still upset because our economy is STILL awful. If it was better, most people would love him.
