Crystal and family [[seven + one Leader Dog puppy) will bring Toll House cookies, watermelon, and a vegetable. The vegetable might be green beans or whatever looks good at the store. The watermelon will be cut up into small pie-shaped pieces with the rind left on for easy handling.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Please note that there is construction on Belle Isle's Central Avenue Bridge and so the road that was a direct route to our picnic site is closed.

This map is very helpful if you zoom in to see the street names: http://www.mapbelleisle.com/#

After crossing the Belle Isle Bridge, bear right off the Bridge and follow Sunset Drive around the western tip of the island turning onto Strand Drive. Follow it east past the Casino and Lake Takoma to Picnic Way [[the bridge just before the Conservatory and the Dossin Museum) and turn left. Go to Loiter Way and turn left. Keep going past the continuation of Picnic Way [[where the road turns into Loiter Way) and follow Loiter Way to just north of the Skating Pavilion. Look for us there. If you encounter Muse Way, you've gone just a bit too far.

FYI...if you follow the posted Central Avenue detour, you will drive through the Casino parking lot and end up turning left on to Strand Drive, which you can take to Loiter Way and follow the directions above to our picnic site.

Stromberg2: A lemon pie and iced tea sound positively refreshing. Please bring them!! There have been a couple last-minute cancellations that included a dessert so a lemon pie will be much appreciated.
