Karen Dybis, responding this afternoon to reader comments -- some critical -- on a post about artist Philip Lauri and his Detroit Lives! group:
I'm trying these last few days to get my head around the kind of posts you and others want to see. Maybe talking more to city officials about what new projects are on the way? Checking in with the DDA? DEGC? City Council?

Do you want posts about specific issues -- like transportation, construction of new buildings/companies, demolition of old buildings -- and how the city is handling it?

Granted, we're more than a month into this project. I'd like to see the posts fall more in line with what people want.
She mentions upcoming posts about Eastern Market improvements and a city-created foreclosure office working to keep Detroiters in their homes.

Useful opportunity for our diverse, well-informed group to help earn national attention for the type of initiatives that deserve it. Quick 'n easy registration required to add ideas in Comments section here.
