    I have taken up the habit of randomly saluting and/or thanking any member of the armed forces that I see in their uniform. Thank God, my son served four years in the Navy during the first Gulf War, and made it through without a scratch.

    Whether you agree with the government and their policies or not, these men and women VOLUNTEER to go into the service of their country.

    My brother-in-law is currently in Afghanistan, and has been to Iraq and back. Poor guy didn't even get a beer yesterday for the Marine Corps Birthday...

    I'll thank him in 2 weeks on the golf course with a case of Coors Light, a 3 or 4 good cigars
