The youngest champion of the World Series of Poker is from Shelby Township, Michigan. His mother works as a dealer at the MotorCity Casino in Detroit.

Heck of a comeback, too. On Saturday during the final nine, he was down to only 1% of the total chips out. And he was down over 2 to 1 in chips on the head-to-head last night. Hope he invests wisely and doesn't piss most of it away. That's his challenge now.

Quite the comeback, good for him. 21 years old, a "professional" poker player both online and in casinos. As long as he sticks to poker and doesn't learn about playing dice or develop some other nasty habits, he'll probably be fine.

I wonder how many financial advisors at brokerage firms have been on the phone with him since he made it far enough in the tournament to be guaranteed a big payout. I know I would want his bankroll in my account portfolio.

Speaking of the devil. Joe Cada is going to be interviewed on CNBC shortly and they are going to discuss what he is going to do with his prize money. Get ready for some indirect Detroit bashing.

Picked up an item in today's Las Vegas Review-Journal. Cada has to split his winnings 50-50 with two guys back in Michigan who put up his ten grand entrance fee. So instead of 8.4 million, he's got 4.2 million, which is not quite 3 million after taxes. On the other hand, he's going to pick up a lot of change for endorsements over the next year or so.

He went on a $150,000 downswing prior to the WSOP. Said to have won over $550,000 online before this. Astounds me that he needed the $10,000 buy-in to the main event to be staked. He dropped full names of the two people who staked him.

The endorsements are said to bring in $10-12 million to Cada. $1 million already contracted with 'Poker Stars'.

I've heard that there are more than one entry fee; to the tune of about $150,000.
