Default 12 die in dual shootings at Fort Hood, Texas

    WTF?

Quote: "The U.S. Army says 12 people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting rampage on the Fort Hood Army base in Texas. The Army says one shooter has been killed and two others apprehended on Thursday in the shooting and all are U.S. soldiers."

    Crazy times.

Wow! Seems really strange to have multiple shooters involved in an on base situation like that.

Hmmm. Arabic name: Major Malik Hasan. This is going to get interesting.

CNN's reporting he was a psychiatrist [[involved in disaster prevention?)

CNN seems to be having unusual difficulty getting news from the scene.

There was a report Major Hassan was about to be deployed to Iraq and was not happy about it. Early reports said there were two separate shootings, one in the theater [[Maj. Hassan) and one elsewhere.

Fuck him. He shouldn't have joined up.

An army base, where they are, and were being trained to kill. It doesn't surprise me. It appears that there is too much war today.

This is crazy; I work not far from where this all went down. We are still under lock down.
Only one shooter, a Major, works at our hospital taking care of soldiers.
He had a shady back ground.
There is a lot of pain here, for friends, and family. Please pray for the survivors, looks like many are activated National Guard here for training.

    Ditto.

My prayers are with the victims and their families, friends and co-workers at this time.

The shooter is not dead. Hopefully he acted alone.

1st sarge we are all with you today and everyday..one of my friends brother was also in lock down...these poor souls, if they survivored a tour and to have their lives end so senselessly...no execuses however, it shows the strain of Mental Health related issues even on the people who are trained to deal with this...again no excuses for this though, he knew the horrors of his action before hand...his knowledge of truama makes this even more horrible...

We all hope it is an isolated incident...tragic though it is.

He should have just refused orders and faced court martial. As it is now, he will be in jail for the rest of his life if he survives his injuries.

I'm glad the shooter survived. Now, instead of being a martyr, he can rot in prison for the rest of his life as a nobody.

Thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families.

It might be unfortunate that some people might have been hurt; but for the military to have acted earlier on the rumors concerning this Major would have raised very serious issues about possible anti-Islamic prejudice within the military. Had he been drummed out of the Military before this, he very well may have filed a lawsuit. Thank God that did not happen.

Good morning, the sun comes up, life goes on.
Services will be held on post and down town. Our wounded are starting to heal.

It's hard to take this all in, it's one thing to go over there to face the enemy and danger, but to have it show up in the ranks at home is madness.

We all felt safe “on post” never worried about a fellow “GI”, everything happed over there, that fantasy is blown.

He most likely will hang for this, we still have the death penalty in the military and hanging is the preferred method, still it’s too good for him.

Concentrate on the victims and spend time in condolence. Trying to figure out why this person did this, there is no reason, he's crazy.
