Default 45 foot tall conifer downtown

I was driving down Woodward near the Kern's clock this afternoon when a I spied a large flatbed truck stopped in my lane of Woodward. Passing by it, I realized it had a huge pine tree all neatly wrapped up laying on the bed. Detroit's Campus Martius Christmas Tree has arrived! No doubt they'll be putting it up and decking it out over the coming weeks.

I see the tree lighting is set for Nov. 20 this year. Has anyone else gone to one of these in the past? I've never been and am just curious to know what to expect! Thanks!

I've gone the past two years and it was awesome! I really enjoyed it. I just parked in the Compuware garage for 5.00.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was going to be about a tree growing out of the roof of one of our abandoned downtown structures! Then I realized that most of those trees are deciduous.
    Ailanthus altissima!

PHEW!! I thought this thread read "45 Foot Tall Conyers", and I pictured Monica strolling down Woodward as Godzilla, terrorizing all in her path.

Detroit Mom, Baby Girl, and I should be present, with baby in her little winter baby sack. I can't wait, she was just mesmerized by the changing LEDs on the top of Compuware this past Summer, and loves the glitter lamp in her room. She just smiles at them and gets all happy and smiles.... oh to be so new and easily entertained. I can't wait to see her face when she sees all the Christmas lights.

Me and the child will be present ..we go every year. Get there early if you want to be able to see the skating preformances.. tends to be a bit crowded and the view of the ice can be blocked quickly
