While browsing my record collection I read on the back cover of a minstrel show record it was produced-arranged and performed on by Detroit alumni Art Mooney. He got his start performing in Detroit clubs back in the 40's? when he was discovered he was working as an apprentice linotype operator at the Detroit News. Also I have Nathaniel Mayer color vynyl album...recorded in Detoit with local musicians...also Livin Proof recorded at studio on 8 mile. Anyone ever check out or write on the Soulful Detroit link?

I think the 8 Mile studio you referred to was the one owned by the guy who was murdered a few years ago. Can anyone confirm that?
