Default New downtown IT center, 437 jobs

Strategic Staffing Solutions -- The Detroit provider of IT consulting, staffing and vendor-management programs plans to invest $7.3 million to open a new IT center. The project will create 802 new jobs, including 437 directly by the company. The MEDC estimates increased economic activity created by the project will create an additional 365 indirect jobs. Based on the MEDC’s recommendation, the MEGA board approved a state tax credit valued at $3.8 million over five years to help convince the company to expand in Michigan over a competing site in North Carolina. The city of Detroit is considering an abatement to support the project. More at http://strategicstaff.com.

    Nice.

See also, in your link, the paragraph about a new parts maker serving Jefferson North. I wonder if its the site that recently abandoned on Conner at Charlevoix. That said, anyone supplying Chrysler is on thin ice.

It is good that Detroit is focusing on becoming a more technological, science, and medical city instead of just an automotive center. The city is going through a transformation. It is also going through a cleansing process. I am wondering if news about the city airport will be coming out soon. I wouldn't be surprise to hear news about an expansion
