Topic of Special Meeting

Lincoln Park's Downtown Development Authority [[DDA) has called a special public meeting for tomorrow night, October 27, 2009 at 5 pm, of which the Mellus Newspapers Building, 1661 Fort Street and the Pollak Building, 1667 Fort Street, Lincoln Park will be discussed. In addition, the Dorsey Building, 1673 Fort Street, also owned by the DDA will be included in the discussion. At last Thursday's Dangerous Building Board meeting it was stated, during the discussion on Mellus, that the purpose of the meeting is for the owner of a Detroit homecare business, who has submitted an offer on the three buildings, to make a presentation as to their plans for the buildings. Also in attendance will be the architect and contractor who would be responsible for the design, construction and restoration of the three buildings. The proposed business would bring twenty to thirty employees to downtown Lincoln Park.
Please attend to show your support of the Mellus Newspapers Building, 1661 Fort Street and the Pollak Building 1667 Fort Street, Lincoln Park which were both utilized by the Mellus Newspapers. The Mellus Newspapers Building has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 2005.
