Default Obama dropping rapidly in polls.

Looks like the disappointment with his performance is growing, and the "it's only been a few months" group is shrinking. Isn't honoring one campaign promise that matters. Health care is an issue, but it is secondary to the real issues like trade and the economy. This guy delivered the sermon to end all sermons to get elected, curious what the pitches will look like in 2010. We should be in a nasty shape by then.

Had a thought, since our elections are just a show anyway and it really doesn't matter who gets elected, fire or frying pan, take your pick, why not have the WWE hold the elections? I can see it now, the debates erupting into a donnybrook. A good ol' chair swinging brawl.

Quote: "September.Obama Quarterly Approval Average Slips Nine Points to 53%

    October 21, 2009
Barack Obama averaged 52.9% approval in his third quarter in office, down sharply from a 62% average in his second. That is the largest drop between those quarters for an elected president since 1953, and one of the largest quarter-to-quarter drops for any first-year president.

In U.S., 39% Say View on Healthcare “Depends” on Details

    October 21, 2009
While the majority of Americans appear to have made up their minds on healthcare reform, 39% say their support for the final bill will depend on the details. Exactly half [[50%) say they favor a public insurance option, but most [[61%) would oppose reducing payments to Medicare providers.

Couldn't find anything more timely than a poll from February 24, 2009?

Rasmussen does a daily tracker. Presidential approval has plateaued in the high 40's since August:

The "I told you so's" and the awareness are long overdue....hopefully not too late to put a stop Obama's evil agenda.

*yawn* Couldn't beat him at the election polls so you pin your hopes on the opinion polls...

Approval rating or not, he's still the president. How that must gall you...

Agreed...but you can't deny that his political capital will suffer amongst politicians in congress making it more difficult to get his agenda passed...far worse when the 2010 elections shift the balance of power in the congress. Why do you think he is in such a hurry now?

Dream on. AP polls have him going UP in the approval rating. the only polls that have him down are those reliably republican pollsters gallup and rasmussen

Can't speak for him, but it doesn't gall me. If Obama would do what he said he would, or at least try, I'd be one of his biggest advocates.

Upside down and backwards...If Obama's "sky falls" we [[the people) have oppression via his socialist collectivist agenda lifted and we are more free as individuals.

Poll or no poll, the questions are: Is the economy getting better? Are fewer factories closing? Is he addressing trade? Are the unemployment numbers dropping? The issues he is failing to address affecting many? Has he put forth a passable health care bill, instead of some 1500 page pipe dream?

By all indicators, Chrysler will be gone next year, GM has a good chance of following suit. Think things are bad here now? Obama stood right in Detroit and blamed the auto companies for their problems, do the math.

He's down in any honest/accurate poll.

Unfortunately...GM will be perpetually propped up by the government even in the face of progressive declines in quality and loss of revenue [[that taxpayers will have to supply. Chrysler's fate is tied to Fiat [[a better scenario for taxpayers), and only time will tell.

    Well, lets take a look....
The latest ABC News/Washington Post poll has Obama with a 57-40 approval rating, Research 2000 55-37. Other polls are in similar favorability territory: Fox has it at 55-41, Gallup at 56-40, Quinnipiac at 53-47, NBC/WSJ at 56-33, and so
    I think he'll take a 55-57% favorable versus the 20% [[67% Un-favorable) republicans are getting these days.

Sstashmoo, Obama can't stop the demise of GM or Chrysler any more than King Canute could hold back the tide.

When your market share drops from 70% in 1980 to 30% in 2000, you're doing something wrong.

The buying public has spoken. Time to read the handwriting on the wall.

Obama's fortunes don't depend on GM or Chrysler- they were given their chance to pull out, if they can't, at least he tried, and Obama's no worse the wear for it.

If Wall Street was allowed to go belly up, that would have been a good move. Nationalize the banks, folks, and force lending again. This is the only way we're going to get out of this.

His numbers are unimportant, as even Reagan had dismal approval ratings at this point in his presidency, even lower than Obama's.

And don't forget who's gaming the polls- Gallup and Rasmussen, both right-wing ideological corporations.

You're right, Obama is still doing well in the polls. I can't think of anyone who could defeat Obama in an election now.

The vibe I myself get is that many folks that will talk politics, Are not happy with the money being spent"thrown around" Dems and Repubs.
I myself will say "Things didn't get this way overnight, and they can't be fixed overnight". So in my personal observation I can see how the Presidents rating could drop.

Of course that isn't the point now is it? Republicans are claiming Obamas numbers indicate the bloom is gone and there will be a wave of republicans swept into office in about 12 months. They have a lot of ground to cover nationally to turn a 67% disapproval rating into gains of any significance.

Rethuglicans haven't got a prayer in 2010 or 2012. And it has nothing to do with Obama or Democrats.

Rethuglicans are their own worst enemy.

Look at party heads like Rush Lintball, Sean Hannity, Saracuda Palin, etc.

No way in hell any voting majority is going to be hijacked by this band of dum dums.

Then you've got the losers in congress like Jim Demented of South Carolina, John Ensign, whose own parents are backing Democrat Harry Reid for re-election, Mark Vitter of Louisiana who has hooker issues, and Larry Craig with toe-tapping issues, Bobby Jindal, the Gumby Governor of Louisiana who's "Republican response" to the convention was met with a head turning bitch-slap to any hopes of winning national political office.

Toss in the mass of Rethuglicans who deny science in favor of "creationism" LOL!!!, among other socially backward issues, and you have a recipe for a one way ticket to Whigdom.

Keep the Michelle Bachmanns of batcrap crazy land, and throw under the bus a few more moderate or centrist Republicans, and see how many years it takes to get another right wing thug in the White House.

Sorry Batts, but "liberty" won't come from Rehtuglicans or "conservative" thinking, which doesn't exist anymore.

I would try embracing change and hope our president succeeds.

Democrats have a 53 percent approval rating to Republicans' 36. Although the favorable ratings of Democrats have declined more than Republicans since the last election, Democrats still have much more support. The big money within the Republican Party is still controlled by its neocon leaders who destroyed the Party. They are funding candidates in their own image to counter small government liberty candidates in the primaries. Unless this changes or Obama totally manages to destroy the economy, Democrats should be able to coast to victory in 2010. CNN poll

Liberal socialists are the avowed enemies of liberty...the only hope is the Republican party even though they need serious reforming towards true conservatism.
