    Default Fort Grand Hotel

    Another hotel, at 4070 W. Fort St., that I've never heard of and is long gone.

    Was on Fort St. about a block west of Grand Blvd. The place was there into the '80s. By that time it was anything but "grand," and I always thought that the name was pretty funny. I knew someone who lived over by the bridge whose family bought 'shine from a guy who lived there and brought it up from his relatives down south somewhere. Pretty much nothing but open fields over there now.
