    Default Mitchell Greetings

Does anyone remember a place called Mitchell Greetings or Mitchell Greeting Cards? They used to sell, primarily Christmas cards that could be personalized, but other other holiday items as well. I remember my mom taking me to their "showroom" once in the late 60s or early 70s. I think it was somewhere in the city, but that's all I can remember.

They were on Warren just east of Greenfield. I remember going into the store and getting a sample package to try and sell them. Only customers were family members. I also sold
the fiber glass bulb covers to protect the Christmas tree from getting too hot. They sold better than the cards.

Growing up in the area I can recall going to Mitchell greetings too, but I remember them being on either Joy Rd across from the Gardens or on Warren by the KFC beween Southfield and Evergreen. I am pretty sure they were located next to Dime stores.

In High School one of my teachers was a Mitchell.

I remember my mother taking me several times to the one on Joy Rd. It had about 4 or 5 very long aisles. All the items purchased had to be hand written, no registers and this took forever!. They sold a lot of stuff you could live without.
