    Default 18620 Maine Street - detroituncovered.com

This property has been listed on detroituncovered.com as "An open door to rape, murder and drug activity." for quite some time now. Does anyone know if the issues with this house have been addressed by the owner [[who is listed as living outside of Detroit), the city.......?

So what! Over 250,000 units in Detroit are listed a DEAD [[C)KRAK HEAD HOUSES, rape nests and targets for arsonists. There's nothing that the city can do to stop these problem.

Oh, really? There's nothing on the books about going after property owners for this? Even failure to secure a property? How about "harboring a known location for habitual crime"? I'd love to hear from some Michigan lawyers about this.

Seems like if you focus on a few owners who own multiple properties, determine they have the ability to pay, aggressively pursue them, utilize the media effectively, more may fall in line with some prodding and incentives to comply. No incentives for the first targeted of course. If you just sit there with your thumbs up the --- and the "oh, there are just too many, cannot do anything" attitude it is pretty much a certainty it will stay that way. No, it actually gets worse. I do remember lines of people several months back who had warrants etc out there willing to deal with their problems. Can you imagine if the City had done their job years ago and kept doing their job? I live in a city notorious for staying on top of any violation, no matter how seemingly minor. It keeps our attention.
