    Default Rush Limbaugh Advocates Socialism!

This deserves its own thread...I mentioned it somewhere else, but thought it should be screamed from a mountaintop somewhere!

Buy up a bunch of tickets of the Detroit Lions so people can at least watch the games on television on Sunday again. At least keep 'em distracted for three hours, the team's looking not that bad this year.

from : http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/dai...108.guest.html [[so you don't think I made this up!)

It seems the staunch bulwark of corporate capitalism in a 'free' marketplace has turned socialist, if even for a convenient moment.

Shows that even the most falsely rigid of flaccidity can have heart enough somewhere deep to at least WANT to deliver to the populace that which they cannot have for themselves. There may be hope for him yet.

I'm proud that Rush has learned and grown some, I look forward to him furthering his awareness of those who cannot afford a good Cuban cigar or a night out at Ruth's Chris for oddly-textured steaks.

OR, was this merely a way for him to garner favor from William Senior on his upcoming NFL ownership vote?!

He was talking about Governor Granholm, and what she could do FOR the state, in his very humble way. Ahem.

Sponsoring government payment of sports tickets so everyone could see the home team play.

Bread and circus? Isn't that what the out-of-touch Romans used to say kept their populace distracted and pacified?!

Well, say what you want, but "bread and circuses" provided to the populace enabled the Roman empire to endure for some 1200 years. Not a bad run, I would say.

The Packers are owned by the City of Green Bay and are prospering. Maybe Rush's recent foray into buying a pro football team has something to do with his solution. We don't need circuses to numb the masses. We already have television.

And he wants PUBLIC MONEY used to give the games to the masses on the telly!

    Socialism, I'm tellin' ya!

He wants to be an NFL owner. And its not socialism if the capitalist pig in question is the recipient... usually under the guise of tax cuts so that said capitalist pig can "provide jobs to the less fortunate" a la voodoo economics.

Huh? this does not make any sense, I get the reference to Rome's gladitorial battles as diversions, ... but Detroit is playing in GREEN BAY,WISCONSIN! ...

Tax cuts are not the same as a tax credit or give away [[as in a bailout or entitlement). The former is allowing an individual to keep more of what is theirs.
