Scotty Simpson's is on Fenkell and Dolphin and that is the place someone was referring to. It is excellent.

Haven't been there for awhile [[I've been patronizing El Barzón, which is really good), but for Mexican I always liked Mi Tierra at Oakwood and Schaefer--not a corner you'd likely to hit in the course of a normal day unless you worked down there.

I think they opened another Mi Tierra on Warren and Faust just west of Southfield.

even on their web site, the Dakota Inn, declares itself a hidden gem.

    http://www.dakota-inn.com/web/pages/home/

The Dakota is really a very neat building and the food is fantastic. From their fenced and guarded parking-lot you enter into a time machine that takes you back to pre-war times. Only place I've ever been where you can get a pitcher of Blatz; which turns out to be pretty good on tap. They must re-use resty hubcaps when they make the Blatz cans, 'cause it sure does taste like it.

Anyway, the Dakota entertainment includes sing-a-longs which sounds stupid from the get-go, until you do it. You can't help but smile while being lead through a confuzzeling rendition of Der Schnitzelbank song.
