"Al Meredith, pastor of the Wedgwood church in Fort Worth, said some off-duty police officers who are deacons at his church carry guns, but he's uncomfortable with the idea of an armed congregation.
"It discourages the crazies from acts of violence if they see uniforms around, but I don't want everybody bringing guns," Meredith said. "My ultimate conviction is what does the word of God say and what would Jesus do? Can you in your wildest imagination ever see Jesus packing a .38? I can't imagine Peter and Paul carrying .45s."

What kind of Pastor is this guy? Read the Bible Mr. Meredith. Though, Jesus would never carry a .38. I would hope he would have a SIG SAUER P229 .40S&W.

Aren't there graphic images of violence in these places called church. Why would it be a stretch that the church leaders would carry weapons? It's part of the environment.

Jesus was non-violent with the exception of using Christ-Fu to rid the Temple of Money changers. J.C. would probably rely on playing a version of the "Judean Dozens" instead of physical confrontation. "Yo' Mamma so ugly, she got to sneak up on the Jordan River to take a drink ! "

You know what the bullshit of this story is?

That I've met plenty of pastors when going around the northern parts of the state who carry guns. And they'd tell you they're defending themselves and their god-given right to bear arms.

Jesus sez.... "Peter, put down your sword. Do you know that my father can send 10,000 angels if he wanted to. Those who lived by the sword, die by the sword."

Sadly we see that some Christians even preachers carry a gun, knife and tazers even a baseball bat. If a Christian challenge to fight a evildoer, let the enemy engage you, hold it down amd talk some biblical sense to them. The Apostle Paul urges anyone not to challenge some to fight against flesh and blood but against principalities, against those who are not from this world.

I have practice this biblical techinque against lots of my emenies and it worked.
