Example - To me Brightmoor, Warrendale and/or any area around City Airport i.e. French Rd. Area. Conner and Mack Area., 75% of eastside is abandoned..Go Check it Out.

All in decline.
Basically all War zones.
All Need Drastic Help
Just thank Coleman Young or Any other Government Official

Like jt1 said, search the archive. This has been done to death, and I'm not sure what the point is anyway. Just drive around and see for yourself. Or, if that scares you, do some Google Streetviewing and look at the city crime view maps.

And while Coleman Young may not have helped the situation, he certainly didn't cause it, or any other government official, unless you think they have control over the economy.

Oh, and for my own contribution: the area directly west of St. Cyril. It doesn't have a lot of crime though, since it no longer has any houses.

The area bounded by Hayes on the east, I-94 on the south, Van Dyke on the west, and State Fair on the north. High crime, very dangerous.

I have to admit the D was teetering back in the early 70s but we had cops and a commisioner who still cared. When Coleman was elected the law and order was put aside abit and then it slid real fast. I know my folks and a lot of other people took their tax dollars and ran to pay them to another municipality that cared about the taxpayer. Coleman whined about human flight from the D and thought casino gambling could save the Paris of the Midwest. Colemans dead and so is the city but it has a couple of casinos that many of us who ran from the D would rather drive 100 mis away from instead of to. Did these casinos save Detroit? Nuke this place already...and make it a true tourist attraction...

Then if you stand at ground Zero we can rid ourselves of one more undesireable in the process...If you don't want to be here then leave... P.S. Ronald Reagan and the Republican agenda has closed our factories not Coleman Young.. Oh yeah I forgot
