    Default Historic Downtown Walking Tour

I'm interested in doing a self-guided walking tour of downtown with an emphasis on the historic buildings and locations. Is there a website any of you could recommend that would have a map with such locations identified? Or brochures that would help? I seem to recall some of the latter available at Cobo but that was a few years ago. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

The Detroit chapter of the American Institute of Architects [[www.aiami.com) has just what you're looking for. It's a fold-up guide to the buildings of downtown and the surrounding areas. In addition to brief descriptions it's loaded with pictures and has an annotated map. It's free and available at their office at 553 East Jefferson [[313 965-4100).
