Part of the Detroit's comeback is the population thanks to speedy city developments and gentrification projects.

I believe that many young people prefer urban living [[blame Friends and Seinfeld?) with walkable neighborhoods with good transportation options to a distant commute and acres of lawn to maintain.

Sure when they're in their 20's and now 30's since people are waiting longer to have kids. Heck, even Monica and Chandler moved to the burbs. I never understood the maintaining a lawn argument though. If you don't want acres of lawn you buy an average size lot, which usually has taken me about 20 minutes to cut in every house I've owned.

Takes me 20 bucks for the rear, 15 more for the front.
45 dollars in fuel and 3 hrs.

I would rather have deer/birds/fox and trees than the animals in the city.

Which is kind of irrelevant to the discussion of city vs. burbs for the average person.

That is fine. Just saying there is an increasing market for folks who don't care about all that that.

While the Baby Boomers and early Gen Xers remained snuggly in their bedroom suburbs. Too late from them to leave their areas. When the housing market rises and hood comes to them.
