Default New Kronk Gym to open at Detroit's Brewster Wheeler Recreation Center

The revitalization of the historic Kronk boxing gym has been known since March — and now we know where it will be located. At a news conference Wednesday, June 4, Kronk CEO Paul Bhatti announced the new gym would be housed at the Brewster Wheeler Recreation Center, located in the Brewster-Douglass neighborhood just north of Ford Field.
According to COO John Lepak, the new Kronk gym is aiming to open "in late August or early September." The original Kronk Gym, founded by legendary boxing trainer Emanuel Steward, trained some of the most historic figures in boxing history, including Tommy "The Hitman" Hearns, Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko.
