Yep. Some blame the banks for front-loading their car loans [even 2K monthly]. Finally noticing their payments not going to principle. ONLY INTEREST!

Still driving our 2002 Saturn SL2 which we bought new. Hands down the best car we ever had. No need to have the latest and tech heavy vehicle. Never cared what the neighbors or friends bought.

Really wish GM had kept the Cruze over the now discontinued Malibu. There is still a market for small sedans at a reasonable price. All the foreign makes - Civic, corolla, elantra, mazda 3, kia k4 are doing fine.

All those makes you listed appear to be building a lot of brand loyalty at the same time by making an entry level sedan and doing it pretty darn well. The Detroit 2 1/2 seem to be taking a pass on that these days.

The Detroit 2 1/2 as you say, are more interested in profit making pickups, and luxury SUV's, gas or electric.
