Default March 2—April 2, 1961: See 18 year old Barbra Streisand at the The Caucus Club

1961.Ross Chapman, publicist for The Caucus Club described the hiring of Streisand: “We told her she had four spots to do at the Caucus and she'd need at least 11 numbers.. She looked me right in the eye and said, ‘‘I’m a fast learner.’ Barbra, was housed at Detroit's Hotel Wolverine at Elizabeth Street, one block east of Woodward Avenue during her run at the Caucus Club, staying in room 308.

I believe you're correct. She would have been 18 or turning 19 in 1961. Oddly, the article states she's 21? The 1.50 minimum seems a little steep though!

Probably needed to appear "legal" to sing in a liquor establishment

She was at the Caucus Club most nights in March and April 1961, and came back for a run in July and August 1961. At some point, she appeared on the Tonight Show and mentioned that she would be returning to the Caucus Club in Detroit.

She stayed at the Wolverine Hotel, the same place Hank Greenberg and Al Kaline lived when they first joined the Tigers. I only remember it as a closed and shuttered building.

My mother took me for a regular infant checkup with our family pediatrician, Dr. Weiner. He told my mother during a visit "My wife and I went down to the Caucus Club and heard the most wonderful singer, her name is Barbara Streisand, you and Mr. Lauter MUST go see her"
My mother didn't have the heart to tell him that the Caucus Club was far beyond our family's means.
