    Default Lunch in Windsor

A couple of friends and I thought we would show a little love for Windsor and Canada and crossed over for lunch with a couple of Windsorites at the classic Kildare House in Walkerville. Anybody else been there?

After lunch, we cruised the shoreline, stopping at the Albert Weeks memorial fountain [shut down for winter] on a perfect spring-like day. Weeks was the Windsor Mayor who led the movement to create Windsor’s amazing parklands along the river.

We then swung by for a walk-around of Hiram Walker's famous Albert Kahn-designed Willistead Manor.

Yes, I also want to spend some money in Windsor as small token of solidarity. They also have a nice riverwalk which I bicycled a few years ago and plan to do again when it warms up.

After the never ending rebuild the Tigers are finally good again. Not sure whether to make my usual trips over or if I would be a traitor to my country.

If I were still in Detroit I’d pay a visit to Windsor as well. I’d encourage any Canadians to boycott the U.S. in every way possible.

Here in Palm Springs we have a lot of Canadian snowbirds. I hear that many are leaving early and I can’t blame them. When one is demeaned and belittled by one’s “friend” what can we expect?

I want my husband to look into reclaiming Canadian citizenship too, based on having had a Canadian grandfather.

I just grabbed Streets of India last night on university. Same deal, going over there to express solidarity.

    It was delicious!

Love my Canadian friends, but totally understand this viewpoint.

We have gone off the deep end on this side of river...

I don't get to Windsor as much as I used to since Tunnel Bar B Que closed, and Buckley's cough syrup started being available here, but I intend to make my annual trip to the Corvette Club of Windsor's Car Show!

I can see we have the usual sorry a$$ political comments. America now has a backbone to our good neighbors and the world. It’s like the bad cop argument. All bad till you need em.
Lowell…as your post intended. I also visited the Kildare late summer last year and great historical place. I’ll go back not to virtue signal but simply because it was a good time.

Some of us believe Canada should remain an independent nation.

Hope you come around to that.

I don't think that it's evolved into this yet... hopefully we can keep it friendly. I plan on driving over for the afternoon for lunch plus, and spending some $$$ to support their local businesses & workers.
I don't consider it "virtue signaling" as I'll be spending Canadian dollars and they might not even know that I've crossed over [[unless they see my car/plates) and I won't be broadcasting it here at home, either. I've always enjoyed my time over there and in these times, especially with the great exchange rate, it seems a good time to support a good neighbor

i remember The Sheik, famous bad guy in the days of Bobo Brazil and Leaping Larry somebody. The Sheik’s act rarely varied, he would throw some sand in his opponent’s eyes, maybe a jab with a nail and then act all innocent.

    ”wha...? Me?”

No one was ever fooled by The Sheik’s antics. He was a heel, a cheat, a scoundrel. Even his fans knew he was a fraud.

It’s predictable behavior for louts who poop in the punchbowl to point fingers at others and feign innocence.

Laughing at clowns and bullies really makes their days. Clowns are delighted; bullies, not so much.

Same goes for gaslighters, trolls and trollops, bloviators and masturbators. They all hate being laughed at.
