Hudson's Bay Stores Closing

The last dept. store chain in Canada and North America's oldest retailer will begin liquidating stores next week. They are hoping for last ditch financing to save about 80 stores but those plans seldom work out. That leaves Canada with nothing but Walmart.
Would love Meijer to come to Canada but I'm pretty sure Target's screwed up foray into Canada would leave them gun shy, not to mention recent political events.

We refer to them as Crappy Tire here. Not really a dept. store. Outdoor stuff, small appliances, cleaning supplies, car care.

I can't believe someone won't quickly jump at getting that name and reviving it in some form. It is legendary, going all the way back to its incorporation by English royal charter in 1670.

Probably put it on cheap Chinese stuff like they did with RCA and a slew of other brands.
