    Thanks, Lowell!

I'll be sharing some fun facts before the movie and at intermission. Plus I'm doing a display case focusing on the Detroit opening of the movie in January 1940 at the Wilson Theatre, now the Music Hall, and the United Artists Theatre.

I will come but only if you wear a fancy gown and carry a parasol.

Will this be a 35mm or 70mm print? 2K or 4K DCP? Satellite stream? Blu-ray? Warner Bros. has been holding off on doing a 4K restoration of GWTW because of the enormous cost. The original negatives are in terrible condition, but new digital restoration techniques will help tremendously.

    This screening is:
    1939 | Not Rated | 3 hours and 58 minutes | Digital

I remember one of the screenings in the past 10 years or so when they had a huge pile of film reels to show Gone With The Wind.

I took my grandmother who loves Gone With the Wind to one of these a few years back that Kathleen was hosting and it was excellent. Kathleen does a fantastic job.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. I'm going going to see it anyway. And if I miss it Saturday, after all, tomorrow's another day.

Kathleen, you could always make a dress using theater curtain material...

Thanks, 13606Cedargrove! My love of Gone With The Wind has really been a blessing. I've had many terrific opportunities through the years to share the stories and meet people, including cast members and authors.

One last post on this thread....
I'm giving a talk on Gone With The Wind at the Bloomfield Township Public Library on Thursday, April 3, 7pm. Registration required.
