Still Mary Sheffield has already won for Mayor of Detroit because she stayed in and kept the D.A.B.O. community stable.Sheffield boast of having more development in her district during her tenure on city council. Yet there are still many empty storefronts in these new developments. Many developments are still being worked on after 8 years from the beginning of their construction. The Riverwalk behind the riverfront towers still has a gate at that section after 5 plus years of completion with the promise of a temporary trail that would lead to West Jefferson.
Cheif Craig had brought up an interesting point about the closing of Sister Pie which is in District 5. The bakery had to close after 10 years. They tried expanding into the empty storefronts on the Parker side but was unable to. A temporary bike shop and a failed Candle and incense store. I remember another individual whom came from Brooklyn opened a small market on the corner of Kercheval and Parker. He wanted to get a permit to sell deli meat but the city gave him such a hard time that he eventually had given up and closed shop. Sure district 5 is the most upcoming district but having many mis opportunities

Hey. Don't get me wrong. There are some things Sheffield had done positive especially when it comes to helping the lower class residents of Detroit. She probably will make a great Mayor if she leaves her father and DABO put of her affairs and the affairs of the city. I am still neutral. Sheffield should learn what make a viable multicultural, multiclass neighborhood and take advice from former Mayor Dennis Archer and Dave Bing
Good point. Whoever becomes the next Mayor, also has to maintain a good working relationship with the Power Brokers who make things happen. Duggan didn't turn it around just by himself.Detroit should be very worried. Good governance can't be taken for granted, and there are very few individuals who can govern effectively. Duggan inherited a bankrupt city in population free fall and has overseen a massive turnaround. The city now has investment grade credit rating and a population that has increased for the first time more than half a century. Looking around the neighborhoods, the changes might not be as visible as those Downtown, but he's established strong fundamentals on which to build upon beginning with fiscal responsibility. A less competent mayor could easily reverse this progress.
Jenkins was the first to start throwing the mud. That kinda turned me off.
Here's what we got so far, a 4 candidate Detroit Mayor Debate:
1. Mary Sheffield 38%
2. Solomon Kinloch Jr. 16%
3. Shaunteel Jenkins 8%
4. James Craig 4%
The rest of the candidates has already not invited to the debate.
With some 20 percent of Detroiters are still thinking about it. This is new race, and Detroiters will have to push the button who will be next mayor to carry this city into the future. Duggan has done his job of making Detroit great again. And I hope one of these 4 future mayoral candidates will be mayor and not to be racial baiter, a regional sell out, a pimp party godfather and a lazy good for nothing.

Sheffield has already had a Detroit's West Side and D.A.B.O. folks on fer side. What she needs to do and get the east sides in for the ride. If she can pass Kinloch's Triumph Mega Church Members. So far Rev. Kinlock got some UAW support in his side. However, in Detroit Politics today The UAW is number 2 it's the regional power brokers and the Detroit area churches [[Mostly Black Detroit Churches) that is bread winners and the swingers.Hey. That's nothing but small potatoes. That is why Sheffield step up to Detroit Councilwoman. If can get her business ventures up in the ghetto hoods, she will weasel her way inside Detroit Business. Most Detroiters in their ghettos has already forgotten her business ventures. Sheffield businesses could work in the ghettos of Detroit if DDA just give her a chance.

Has former chief James Craig said whether he would be inclined to keep Todd Bettison as chief, if Craig were to be elected mayor?
