Default The Dynamic American City [[or..."Old Buildings Stand in the Way of Progress")

Interesting old video. I don't think it mentions Detroit directly.

Were our city leaders across this country once this shortsighted? You get angry seeing those beautiful old homes demolished for "urban renewal". If only one could go back in time and talk some sense into these people! Fortunately, it seems like most cities' leaders have realized in the last 10 years that old architecture is very important. Unfortunately, many buildings paid the price, especially in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.

It's a St. Louis blog, but the video isn't directly focused on St. Louis [[though it mentions it). But the video is great to watch. Very eye opening.

    Thank you for posting those.

Check out this video with commentary while your at it. It explains how that way of thinking emerged.
