    Default Matthew Stafford/Jim Schwartz[[Lions) v. Mark Sanchez/Rex Ryan[[Jets)

After 2 weeks of regular season play, it is looking like both rookie starters are settling in with their respective playbooks and team chemistry.

Although Stafford appears to be a better QB pound-for-pound when compared with Sanchez, the environment surrounding their growth in the sport can't be more different.

Not only are the QBs new, even the head coaches are new - being the first year for Jim Schwartz with the Lions and the first year for Rex Ryan with the Jets.

Their record thus far ..... the New York Jets 2-0, while the Detroit Lions 0-2.

Granted there is still a lot of football left to play, but many of us Lions fans are certainly having flashbacks of sad history repeating itself once again.

Yeh, but we have, the Bill Ford factor.

It's simple. Mark Sanchez is surrounded by talent and a capable offensive line. Stafford on the other hand is surrounded by players who might not even crack the starting lineup on most teams.
This is the result of years of poor drafting and misjudging talent by the Lions organization. If they had paid more attention to building up their linemen and defense the Lions would be in better shape. Instead, you are looking at a team that will struggle to win 2 games this year. Same old, same old.

Congratulations to our very own rookie starter QB for chalking up a W in the standings!

    With today's win ..... Stafford/Schwartz[[Lions) 1-2 ; Sanchez/Ryan[[Jets) 3-0
