    Default Is CURE the cure?

Interesting item in today's Free Press pitting two not-too-loveable opponents, the ambulance chasers vs. the insurers. Newcomer to Detroit and MI, CURE auto insurer is threatening defamation law suits against a Michigan Auto Law lawyer and blogger who has been attacking them. Why? Because it affects the tort lawyers' bottom line.

Who will you cheer for? Anyone using CURE to insure?
"A newcomer to the state, CURE arrived in Michigan in 2021 in the wake of the no-fault auto insurance revamp, which gave drivers a first-ever choice over medical coverage in their policies and introduced price controls on medical services.

Before the reform, all Michigan drivers had to buy unlimited no-fault coverage and it was easier for some law firms to profit when taking a standard one-third cut of clients' medical benefits payouts.

"When drivers save money by choosing lower amounts of no-fault medical, known as personal injury protection, or “PIP,” it can ultimately drag some accident law firms' profits."

I tried to get a quote from CURE and they said I didnt qualify for their coverage. No accidents ever, last ticket was 7+ years ago, 800 credit score, safe vehicles, and I don't qualify??? They are up to something over there for sure.

Either that or their whole "We insure in Detroit" ads ar just BS.

Without ambulance chasers, insurance companies, and gambling enablers our sports teams would have no sponsors.

I've heard these guys are shady AF. My guess is they're looking for customers that don't have the means or the ability to go after them when they automatically deny claims.

Out of curiosity I checked the Better Business Bureau. You're always going to have complaints about an insurance company but not only are they not on their approved list but they have a 1/5 rating. Guess it doesn't take much for athletes or their agents to agree to become a pitchman.

Sounds about right. Scams and frauds evolve as the what's left of culture devolves. Bear Costume Used In Elaborate Car Insurance Fraud Scheme - The Onion

I handled a claim with them and was paid in a timely manner.
    I was lucky?

I dealt with them for a year. Their quote for coverage for six months was lower than most, but they nickel and dime you to the point that it raises the price of your coverage. If you pay monthly, they charge you a $15 fee to process your payment online. Then, if for some reason you have to pay by phone, they charge you $19. So, if you pay for four months after an initial payment, you're paying $60 - $76 more just to pay by month. So, how do you charge more for an online payment?

So the cheap ends up expensive! We're in an educators pool insurance plan that IS a bit pricey. But I like how in the 'tight' I can split payment portions up thru my equity for more time. No late fees. Great coverage. I'm good.

Nothing but money. I see Dan Campbell is getting in on the act with Applebees and Sam Bernstein. They're not doing it for free.

Car Insurance is a rip-off, always has been. But it's a very much needed one.
