Did this get posted anywhere? I didn't even see it in the news... but on Oct. 1 2024, Henry Ford and Ascension merged, making one of the largest corporations in Michigan.

Henry Ford has about 18,000 employees in the area, ad Ascension [St. John, Providence, etc.] has 11,500 employees... making a combined 29,500 employees.

This isn't exactly accurate. Ascension is a huge health care organization. The Henry Ford Health / Ascension agreement is not a merger. It's a joint venture. No money exchanged hands. Effectively, Ascension is divesting themselves of their presence in SE Michigan, and are handing over control of the facilities and staff to Henry Ford Health. From a contract perspective, Ascension still has a stake, but I imagine at some point a clause will be triggered that will allow them to completely sever ties and complete the handoff.
