Defensive back Jimmy “Spiderman” Allen helped spur the team to a 4-0 start in 1980 thanks to his recording of the regionally popular rendition of Queen's “Another One Bites the Dust” — though the team only managed a 9-7 record overall that season.

Game 4 was where the Lions were dancing on the field after the game against the Vikings. A few weeks later Lions got what they deserved. Minnesota crushed the Lions 34-0 in the rematch. I did love watching Billy Sims though.

And then there was the takeoff song "Another one beats our butts."
One year my dad and a buddy got season tickets, during the Monty Clark era, I believe. I'd be watching the game on TV, and more often than not, my dad would arrive home somewhere in the middle of the third quarter.
1980
Who can forget? Watch the Lions' team speed on the kickoff return. And people wondered why we sucked.
