I passed by it while it was in progress. Made quite the stink. I see it's owned by the dean of Michigan State University’s College of Education. The day before the fire, a right wing muckraker accused him of plagiarizing most of his academic work.

This house once belonged to Mirton Briggs, who was the brother of Walter Briggs that formerly owned the Tigers. Mirt Briggs was a V.P. of Briggs Manufacturing and like Walter died before Chrysler bought them out.

It's going to take a while to rebuild the Briggs home. Please take care of those historic homes. Once it's gone, it gone for good.

    Save our history.
