Hi Folks;
I say a long-time lurker in that, more than a few times, I've been directed to the forum as I searched for things remembered of Detroit from the 60s-80s. I've been a Michigander since the early-60s [Dad brought plastics to the automotive industry--remember stamped steel dashboards and trim?], yet we were up-Woodward suburbanites with only day-trips to the city.
Come 1975, we moved to the then 'backwoods' of Brighton. Work with the auto industry brought me into the city, and like many young folks of the 70s and 80s, the freedom around Michigan's hub took me downtown, yet otherwise, my time was spent in surrounding areas. Now old and somewhat sedentary, I can only admire the positive resurgence from afar, and any thoughts are un-invested.
Point being, there is little I can contribute to the forum or members here, no matter how much I might have and will gather from it [but hasn't that always seemed the way with those not from Detroit?].
I have a few questions regarding some of my personal projects, yet otherwise, I'm just grateful to be allowed into your community.
Thanks for the forum membership! Hopefully I can get to know some of you better.
B.E.F.
