    Color | Ink Studio & Gallery is pleased to present “Florilegium & Fairy Tales”, an exhibition of drawings by visual artist Lori Zurvalec. Drawings meant to be independent works of art are featured, as well as others that are completely abstract, meant to convey emotion, and were created following the drafting of a poem. The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Saturday afternoon, September 14 from 2-4 pm. It’s free, and guests will have the opportunity to meet Lori and discuss the artwork in person.     OPENING RECEPTION OF PUNK POSTERS Saturday, September 14th at 2 pm at Garage Cultural. “Punk Posters” curated by artist collective, Mala Influencia’s Ximena Ortiz and Osiris Ramírez @osirisramirezc of Bogotá, Colombia, will be on display in Detroit. Mala Influencia are a collective transcending borders in an international movement of countercultural media, through the aesthetic of punk. This exhibit is traveling globally and represents a collaboration of dozens of artists in the vain of music and protest.     Two renowned chefs will work side-by-side in a breathtaking wooded setting to create an enchanted open-air dining experience filled with flavors from the forest. Chris Gadulka with Sylvan Table in Sylvan Lake and Johnny Prepolec of Alchemi in Royal Oak will create six distinct courses served along a quarter-mile trail. Each dish will feature Michigan-foraged ingredients. The event, hosted by Friends of the Johnson Nature Center, is designed to connect attendees with their natural environment in a whole new way and raise funds for the 40-acre nature center in which is free and open to the public. 248-341-6485

His personal pain, sharply funny social commentary, and completely original freestyle comedy left a lasting impact on today’s poetry, politics, music, film -and, of course -comedy. His unwavering commitment to, and passion for, free speech led to numerous obscenity charges and arrests.     The works displayed in this exhibition span almost six decades of the artist’s remarkable career and include paintings, collages, mixed media, lithographs, totemic sculpture, textiles, and three-dimensional handmade paper. To make his art, Johnson has drawn deeply on the shared humanity of world cultures, the music of Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, the paintings of Alma Thomas, the poetry of Dudley Randall, and the prose of Richard Wright.     The Radwood Auto Show event was fun and for free. The 70s and 80s car show event at Hart Plaza was ill organized. It was over at 4pm and it cost $35 dollars to attend. The future architect design displays at 1001 Woodward was shutdown at 3pm yesterday instead of 6pm with no apparent reason to arriving visitors whom wanted to see the displays. Ford is the only one whom had gotten it right in the city of Detroit when it came to their events at the Michigan Central which was well attended. The owner of Hart Plaza, whether it's the city of Detroit or some other entity, with their attempt to use Hart Plaza for another money profiting scheme
