    Those include mixed-income housing and new retail in four- to five-story buildings, according to the Detroit-based developer, Method Development LLC, which has been tapped to develop the stadium and the broader Corktown area across its real estate portfolio, which the popular men's and women's soccer team has been adding to recently. Amelia Patt Zamir, co-founder and principal of the company along with Rakesh "Rocky" Lala, said they and DCFC leadership are trying to build what she described as "a new gateway to the city."

    "We feel this is a vibrant mixed-use area that's going to be a global destination," she said. "We're excited to be involve She said the team is looking to European soccer stadiums "that are kind of just folded into the urban experience" for inspiration. "We love the area and what we want to develop there. We want to make it something special, and make this a place where people can come and spend the whole day there, whether there are matches or not," Lala said.

    This is so exciting. Not just a stadium with parking lots, but an all-encompassing live-play [[maybe work) district. I can't wait to hear about the plans.

    Wayne County Needs to give up their giant road maintainence yard on Michigan Ave. This could be moved to any underutilized industrial zoned space in the city. There's no shortage of them, and no need to keep it in such a prime location.

    Now imagine if there was a streetcar extension to take midtown and downtown residents or parkers right to the games...
