What I like about Hooker is exactly what Lowell stated. He will bring a completely new offense onto the field if needed. Not just a lesser version of Goff. Something different out of a backup will put Defensive game plans/players back on their heals.

Lots of Lions hype. They've made the cover of SI's NFL preview issue. Hope that's not a precursor to the so-called Madden Jinx.

While I am loath to predict anything beyond the regular 17 games because I fear retribution from the gods of luck; however, since Dyes has a tradition to uphold I will submit my prediction of

    12-5

On the subject of Mr Hooker, I believe we will see him in a wildcat role. We know he can run and throw ; we also know Campbell likes trickeration.

Campbell’s trick bag will increase when a speedster/passer in the backfield.

The gods will punish Campbell for his Applebee's commercial. Is he contractually required to stoop beneath dignity?

What's next? Matthew Stafford starring in ads for Little Caesars Pizza? Oh, wait... that's a thing!

I like 12-5, I think that is realistic. Tougher schedule than last year.

    I think 12-5 or 11-6 are realistic.

They should go to the next level this year eventhough the pressure will be great. Campbell have to stop taking risky chances

I'm trying to ignore the local sports writers' Superbowl predictions, though.

It appear to me that the Lions are beginning to make the same mistake that they had done last year. They allow themselves to get in a hole and barely pulling off a win. The team is much better than that

I don't think any of the offensive starters had played a snap during the preseason. It showed. There was a lot of rust being shaken off.

The defense was gassed. Both were. First week of the year, very few of the players are conditioned to play a full game. Lions are lucky they won the coin toss in overtime. Rams could have just as easily taken advantage of a tired Lions defense had they won.

It wasn't pretty but it was a win. They were confident in themselves. They expected to win and in the end that's what they did.

Onto next week, bring on Baker and the Bucs!

Agreed, but NBC didn't show the OT kickoff, nor the first OT play by Kalif Raymond.

If the defense was gassed after the first game of the season after all of the practices and money spent on draft pics and trades just imagine how they will be for the next two months with the lineup they have.

That final drive in OT was impressive. The Lions played power football with Montgomery, with the best OL in the NFL leading the way. The Rams didn't have an answer.

The lions were not impressive, but their win was.

When it mattered they girded their loins and set their jaws. Good for them.

The lead up to OT was meh. In OT the lions were lights out.

That was said earlier. In OT, they turned it up.

I really thought they were going to change the OT rules this year. Good for the Lions but really a dumb way to decide a game.

Why do so many sports writers use 'x'? Don't their corporate handlers understand that decent people boycott fascist platforms? May as well use truth social

'x' is reserved for deplorables like Nolan Finley.

Desperate to win Goff took some risks

    Turnover on Downs

Our defense been tricked with bucs running games.

    11 Yard Run

    Touchdown Buccaneers
[[:42) [[Shotgun) B.Mayfield up the middle for 11 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

The Bobby Layne Curse kick in for the Lions blew simple high school plays. Hype them up Campbell.

Seems like this team, including their coach, spent too much time reading their press clippings.

    I'm still saying 12 wins.

I would love to believe that, but every year is different. Some teams are better this year, and some are off to 0-2 starts like the Ravens and Bengals. Arizona put 41 on the Rams yesterday, and they go there next Sunday, and the Saints [[2-0) destroyed the Boys in Dallas, 44-19. Goff has to be pretty much lights out every game. He just signed that new deal, so I'm sure he feels the pressure to have a better year than last. He threw the ball 55 times yesterday. That's too much. They need to get back to running the ball more consistently, and he looked like he had a point to prove by forcing the ball to Amon-Ra since he only had 3 targets last week. He finished with 11/119 yrds. Also, where is Sam LaPorta at?

Yesterday was a weird day all around. Seems like more games than not were upsets.

Offense looks out of rhythm. Time for the coaching staff to figure out how to get things back in sync.
