    Default The Presidential Race Card

Its really is getting boring that people are playing the race card everytime some one disagrees with Obama.

Jimmy Carter should realize his 15 mins are up.

By and large I admire Mr. Carter for what he has done and continues to do, but I don't know where he's coming from on this one. It's unfortunate.

UFO, why the need to repeat yourself with multiple threads bitching about the president and his supporters?

I long for your posts about the paranormal and anomalies.

So posting a thread about Jimmy Carter and other influential people playing the race card is bitching multiple times about Obama ?

Maybe some of his shady supporters, not all.

I believe the only thing I said against Obama is that a lot of his supporters are shady and racist.
Golly now how come I dont recall bitching about Obama? Oh yea, I know. Its because I didnt.

Get a grip on life. He is open to critisim just like any other POTUS>and vetting people like Carter and Powell and the likes to play the race card is not going to change anything.
People have the right to disagree with anyone whom they wish to disagree with and the race card strategdy is played out.

If some moron that supports the president is doing it unscrupulously then I will have a say in it just like any other before him.

What Jimmy Carter contended that most [[white) Americans are changing their minds that they don't want a black U.S. president to ruin their way of life. They think that African Americans are not capable to run the free world. Well its from their FEAR OF COWARDICE! that a any black leader to destroy the United States. I would say that Jimmy Carters statement's is an ILL. Black leaders can have the ability as a white, Arab, Jewish, Asian, Hispanic person to run the free nation. Nobody has giving President Obama a chance to reform this nation from the ecomony to heath care. Instead most white Americans are trying to crucify him on the American Flag and release the republican thugs that ran this nation to the ground.

Face it fellas. You all Americans of every race and creed had choose your black leader to run this nation and so deal with it for the next 4 years. It least he's better the George Bush.

    WORD FROM THE STREET PROPHET

Politics is not perfect, Democracy is structured Either we adapt to this change or fall. A black songwriter sez... " Change is going to come, Oh! yes it is"

for Neda Soltani sake, Give President Obama a chance.

Carter is delusional using the race card.

He should worry about picking peanuts and not running this country. He had his chance and he wasnt all that great either.
This is just another ploy by a washed up ex president to get some attn.

People in this nation do not want all out socialism.
They just want this system fixed so the idiots on capitol hill and their wall st whores stop making our pockets light while they live high off the hog on our dime.

A lot of us also want health care reform.

Great thing about getting old is that you can say what you think; and not worrying about being politically correct..Carter is not senile, nor is he always wrong...his presidency aside..he is calling injustices as "he" sees them..and what is his motive? To bring about discussion to subjects that the rest don't have the balls to ..the elephant is in the room about his statements..and there must be some level of truth about them or they wouldnt be scaring so many...and the white House did what it was should have --distanced itself from it while saying behind closed doors ...there is a grain of truth...

Playing the race card wrongly is like playing the anti-Semite card...don't do casually, because when you really need it; it will lose effectiveness using it inappropriately..so Carter saying this must come with foresight and understanding.

I sometimes wonder if Carter is capable of foresight and understanding.

At least Obama disagrees with him.

I don't think anyone can call Carter delusional about the race issue with this presidency. Race isn't the ONLY problem that people have with the current POTUS, but it is an issue in the back of many people's minds. When you think of all the foolishness that people are willing to believe about him [[he's a muslim, he's hung out with a terrorist, he was born in Kenya and smuggled here, he has a Hitler agenda, he'll corrupt the children etc etc etc) you have to wonder how come they are able to believe them so easily. SOME of the people who buy into these rumors I believe aren't able to wrap their heads around being prejudice against a black man in the white house. And although it might not be all of the people at these tea bag marches, you do have some mixing in the crowd.

I agree with Jimmy Carter. I've said it before in other threads and I'll say it again. All the nut jobs shouting "I want my country back" are really shouting "I want a white man back in the White House". They just don't have the balls to say what they are really thinking. It's easier for them and more acceptable to most people to just call him a Muslim, Hitler, a socialist, a communist, etc. They just can't stand the fact that a black man is our President. I thought the election last year finally put [[most) us past this. How sad.

An absurd arbitrary argument that is so wrong on its' face, and has no evidence to support it.

More important, who set this in motion and why? Answer; Obama and company as a distraction.

yea, Iread some of those. Terrible stuff.

Te ones that got me were "they are trying to crucify Obama for not cleaning up the white mans mess"
    and
"Michael Steele is the republican version of the house negro who would say anything his white masters wanted him to say
    and
Its about white men that have ruled the roost since landing here, white men are determined to keep all the money and power to themselves.
    and
"of course Steele is only saying what "THEY" want him to say. Thatsthe only reason "THEY" picked a black man.
    and
This country was founded on racism,we have a long and deep history of putting others down so the white man can feel superior.

I am sure there are numerous others but Im too tired to look.

Im sure glad the above comments are not racist. If they were then the left could be called equally racist.

I still have yet to see all these supposed racist signs that these people are carrying at these protests.

those quotes are from the cnn comment link above.

These are comments pro Obama supporters made about the opposition.
I picked out the hypocritical posts to show that both sides are equally racist.

Still doesn't give any sense that this is not a stacked deck. Polls have many downsides, but even polls give a better sense of what is really happening then this "data"

Im confused. I am pointing out that there are Obama supporters posting racist crap on the cnn website making them just as bad as the racists on the right.

    HHow is that stacking anything.

Point being that nobody has any idea who the source of these things are, so we need to take them with less than a grain of salt.

    From tetsua's link:
Carter says that racism is bubbling up among many white people all around the country because they think African-Americans aren’t qualified to lead. he calls it “an abominable circumstance.”
I agree with Carter but his statement is being misinterpreted.

    From The Christian Science Monitor:
“I think it’s very destructive for America to suggest that we can’t criticize a president without it being a racial act,” Gingrich told FOX News this morning.
There's too much generalization in this debate. Many people have trouble differentiating between the ideas that "All Obama objectors are racists" and "All racists are Obama objectors." There is a difference -- a big difference.

I sincerely doubt the former idea. I can easily imagine cases where non-racists might genuinely object to Obama's policies. I have no doubt Obama would welcome those objections.

However, I'm having trouble imagining cases refuting the latter idea, i.e., where racists would not object to Obama's policies.

Can anyone explain to me why a racist would not object to Obama's policies? Can anyone find such a case that doesn't stretch reason too far?

I think Gingrich is astute enough to know of this difference and therefore I suspect he is surreptitiously trying to exploit that most people don't understand the difference between these two ideas.

No requirement that Obama be replaced by a white person here. I'd consider it a vast improvement to see Thomas Sowell or Bill Cosby take his place in the Oval Office!

[[Or if that's not possible, the Detroit Mayor's office!! Or even the Superintendent of Schools!)
