After Dark: World Space Party Michigan Science Center
This adult-only event will allow guests access to the museum, music, food, beverages [[one complimentary drink), science demonstrations and a laser Lizzo light show.
The theme will be “World Space Party” and there will be presentations about the James Webb Space Telescope and its research, along with a look at ways space can kill us and how scientists are trying to ensure that humans become an interplanetary species.

6-11 p.m. Saturday at the Michigan Science Center, 5020 John R in Detroit. Guests must be 21+ with ID to enter. Tickets are $35 for members, $48 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at mi-sci.org.


Greenfield Village - Opening Day
Greenfield Village opens to the public for the season on Saturday; members can get early access on Friday.
The 80-acre historic village will offer train rides, carousel rides, Model T rides, carriage rides, opportunities to explore working farms, strolls down Main Street and into historic homes, craft worker demonstrations, access to the village playground and more.
Greenfield Village is open 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., seasonally, Wednesdays through Sundays. 20900 Oakwood Blvd., in Dearborn. Admission for children 5-11 is $24.75 and $33 for adults; children under the age of 4 enter free.


Birmingham Shopping District Spring Stroll
This second annual event co-sponsored by The Surnow Company and Cooper Street Cookies will feature local retailers and restaurants with special giveaways. Registered attendees will receive instructions on where to check-in to pick up event bags, coloring activity sheets and a list of participating retailers.
Completed activity sheets may be returned to the event check-in for a prize and will be displayed around town.
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in downtown Birmingham. Registration required. More information at allinbirmingham.com.


GreenFest and E-Recyling events at the Detroit Zoo
h GreenFest at the Detroit Zoo takes place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. This eco-friendly festival presented by Consumers Energy is themed 'In With the Old.' It will feature live music, a variety of green food trucks, a marketplace to purchase sustainably sourced products, green education stations, access to the Zoo's 125 acers, animal habitat chats, themed photo opportunities and more. Free with Zoo admission. 8450 W. 10 Mile in Royal Oak.
h An e-recycling event by the Detroit Zoological Society, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy will help the community divert waste from local landfills by collecting acceptable electronics. Items to be recycled can be dropped off at the large surface parking lot along 8450 W 10 Mile in Royal Oak.
To participate, register at surveymonkey.com/ r/7TMF9ZL. It's free to participate. For each driver who brings items for recycling, the DZS will gift one admission ticket [[two for large loads) to the Detroit Zoo, redeemable through Dec. 31.


Eggstravaganza - Maybury Farm
Easter may have passed for most families, but members of orthodox congregations who celebrate the holiday this weekend, or any families looking to keep the fun going, this annual egg hunt by the Parks Partnership Committee will be for children 2-10 years old, in four different age groups.
The first 800 children can redeem eggs for a prize bag filled with candy and treats from supporters in the community.
In addition to the egg hunt, there will be face painting, seed planting, crafts, costumed characters, food trucks and farm animals.
Concessions will be available from Good Sense Coffee and All City Dogs.
10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Maybury Farm. 50165 Eight Mile in Northville. $5 per person [[cash only). Children 2 and younger enter free.
