Detroit Tigers new Pitching Coach Robin Lund

The Tigers announced recently that Robin Lund will be
coaching the pitchers in 2023 along with Michigan's former
coach, Chris Fetter. Is Robin Lund any relation of Don Lund
who played for the Tigers in the early 1950s. He played alongside Jackie Robinson for Brooklyn when Robinson jointed the major league team after a year in Montreal.

Don Lund did not hit for a high average but he had
a successful career as a coach at Michigan leading them to
victory in the college world series in 1962. I believe he then
served as farm director for the Tigers from 1963 to 1969 or
so before he returned to Michigan for a job in sports administration.

Robin Lund apparently spent 19 years as a professor at
Northern Iowa before accepting a job as pitching coach at
the University of Iowa. It is good to know that former
college professors can find work in major league baseball.
