It's not worth the border hassle anymore to go over just for dinner.

We did it recently. From the time we left out house in Detroit to the time we walked into a downtown Windsor restauarant was 25 minutes. A trip to Royal Oak would have taken longer--and street parking in Windsor is far easier too.

You can't count on that though, certainly not on a weekend. It's the hassle coming into Detroit not going to Windsor.
