Default Construction on West Jefferson opposite Fort Wayne

Several large single story buildings have been erected along
West Jefferson across from Fort Wayne. Are these structure
for the work that is being done nearby for the Gordie Howe
International Bridge? Or are they for some other purpose? They are surprisingly large.
I am surprised that the newspaper have not published
any pictures of the huge arcs that have been erected in the
Detroit River to hold the highway that will make up the bridge.
They are very impressive and imposing.

West Jefferson has been a pain to travel on since the 1950's. So.....why don't you just take Fort Street to wherever you're going?

Thank you very much. I am pleased to learn that what is being
constructed are the toll booths and customs inspections stations.
I am giving my students a tour of Detroit and wanted to show them
the impressive Fort Wayne which was constructed when war with
England seemed likely in the 1840s. It is an impressive structure
and, perhaps, the only example of late medieval military architecture
in the country. At one time recently, Detroit officials had the architects
of the High Line in New York City come and suggest what might be
done to capitalize upon Fort Wayne. I assume nothing ever came of
    that.

    Thank you.
